Exhibition “Echoes of the Past: The Extinct Fauna of Pisão”
The exhibition “Echoes of the Past: The Extinct Fauna of Pisã” invites visitors to discover the large mammals that inhabited the region during the Pleistocene and to learn about the changes in the landscape over thousands of years.
Through illustrations, photographs, and scientific content, the exhibition showcases species such as the wild horse, the aurochs, the cave hyena, and the brown bear, exploring their roles in the ecosystems of the past.
The exhibition also draws a connection between prehistoric fauna and the current landscape management at Quinta do Pisão, highlighting the importance of large herbivores in ecosystem dynamics and biodiversity conservation.
