Cascais Surf for Employability Programme - 31st Edition
The Cascais Surf for Employability Programme helps young people and adults who are unemployed or looking for their first job to find their way into work.
Surfing is at the heart of the programme. Combined with other tools, it helps participants shape and pursue their personal and professional goals, while giving them first-hand insight into the many careers connected to the surf industry.
Over five weeks, participants take part in weekly surf and yoga classes, one-to-one and group coaching focused on personal and professional development, and training sessions covering economics, accounting and finance, communication and marketing, job-seeking skills, management and planning, and entrepreneurship.
The five-week cycle ends with a two-day skills and experience review called Deep in the Ocean. Once the programme is over, participants can also benefit from 16 weeks of mentoring to develop their own projects.
Classroom sessions take place at Nova SBE (Nova School of Business and Economics), a university campus on the seafront in Carcavelos. Surf lessons are held at Carcavelos Beach, one of the most popular surf spots on the Lisbon coast.
