Shrek the Musical
The Yellow Star Company presents the most entertaining and greenest musical, SHREK THE MUSICAL. On stage at the Salão Preto e Prata at the Estoril Casino on 1 December 2026.
SYNOPSIS
Shrek is an ogre who lives happily on his own in a swamp in Far Far Away. His peace is threatened when the local ruler, Lord Farquaad, banishes all the magical creatures from his kingdom to the swamp. To get rid of them, the ogre strikes a deal with Farquaad: he will fetch the ‘piece’ that would make Lord Farquaad’s kingdom complete.
This ‘piece’ is Fiona, a politically incorrect princess held captive in a castle guarded by a dragon. Shrek and his friend Donkey set off on a mission to free her. And they succeed. But Shrek falls in love with Fiona and begins to fight to win her heart.
An adaptation of the musical with music by Jeanine Tesori, and book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire. Based on the film "Shrek", produced by DreamWorks in 2001, and the book "Shrek" by William Steig, published in 1990.
