OCCO Invites - Duo Sírius
Two classical guitars, five composers and almost a century of music: Duo Sírius takes the audience on a journey through different eras and musical languages written for guitar duo.
The programme opens with Joaquín Rodrigo, the great name of 20th-century Spanish music, and the idiomatic guitar writing of Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. It then moves on to contemporary works by Marek Pasieczny and Gulli Björnsson, and closes with the intense, expressive Serenade by French composer André Jolivet. It is a chance to hear the full range of colour and expression this pairing can offer.
The concert is part of OCCO Invites, a series hosted by the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra (OCCO). It takes place at the Museu da Música Portuguesa (Museum of Portuguese Music), housed in Casa Verdades de Faria, a 20th-century villa in Monte Estoril.
