Description

The Open Cities Accelerator is an international film project development program that seeks to explore new technologies to bring more ambitious projects to life, while preserving filmmakersโ€™ artistic vision and creative control.

Created by Open Cities International, the program combines virtual sessions with an in-person residency in Cascais from November 2 to 10. The residency includes workshops, mentoring sessions, case studies, and hackathons with experts from todayโ€™s leading technology companies, ensuring that each project culminates in a more ambitious and sustainable production plan, thanks to the collaboration of various creative and technological fields.

In parallel with the residency, several world-renowned filmmakers will gather in Cascais to present three public masterclasses on November 4, 6, and 8: Jon Kilik (producer of the *Hunger Games* saga and of filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Steven Soderbergh, and Brian de Palma); Erik Jendresen (creator of the โ€œBand of Brothersโ€ series and screenwriter for the latest films in the โ€œMission: Impossibleโ€ franchise); Dana Stevens (screenwriter for โ€œThe Woman Kingโ€ and producer of the series โ€œRecklessโ€); Ted Hope (renowned producer, head of Amazonโ€™s fiction division, for which he has received 19 Oscar nominations); Anne Carey (a producer nominated numerous times by the Academy, responsible for โ€œ20th Century Women,โ€ โ€œThe Savages,โ€ and โ€œThe Americanโ€) and Amy Robinson (producer of Martin Scorseseโ€™s โ€œAfter Hoursโ€ and Nora Ephronโ€™s โ€œJulie & Juliaโ€).
