“Serenade Concert”, recital by OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra
A programme designed for lovers of string music. Soloists from OCCO, the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, perform a light and engaging recital built around the serenade: a graceful, melodic form of music traditionally played in the evening.
The highlight is Edward Elgar's much-loved Serenade, alongside the lively Greek dances of composer Nikos Skalkottas and Gyula Beliczay's Serenade for Strings. The evening closes with a serenade by Austrian composer Robert Fuchs.
The concert takes place in the auditorium of the Cascais Cultural Centre, in the heart of the town.
