Um Desafio com Arte - Hands-On Baking
Description
Autumn is olive oil season in Portugal, and this family activity celebrates it with a story and a recipe. Meet the author of the children’s book Um Desafio com Arte as she reads from it, then bake the traditional olive oil cakes (bolinhos de azeite) that feature in the story.
In the vegetable garden at Quinta do Pisão, a nature park within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, participants make the cakes themselves and bake them in a wood-fired oven, recreating Grandma Lurdes’s afternoon snack and the community spirit of country life.
Suitable for ages 5 and over.
