Exhibition: Among the Raindrops
The Cascais Cultural Centre presents โAmong the Raindropsโ, an exhibition showcasing the work of final-year students on the Masterโs in Fine Arts at ESAD.CR โ the Higher School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha. The exhibition comes to Cascais as part of a partnership between the D. Luรญs I Foundation and ESAD.CR, dedicated to promoting emerging artists and bringing them into contact with different audiences and institutional circles.
The exhibitionโs title, chosen at a student assembly, offers a reading that is both poetic and pragmatic of the transitional phase the students are going through, between the end of an academic cycle and the start of their professional careers. It also alludes to the working conditions in the ESAD.CR studios, where creating โamidst leaks and dripsโ is part of everyday life. The works on display thus reflect this process of adaptation and resilience that characterises artistic production at this stage.
The exhibition was previously on display at the Caldas da Rainha Cultural and Congress Centre between July and August. Its move to Cascais establishes a dialogue between distinct geographies and contexts, bringing together the trajectories of the 18 artists within the expanded field of contemporary art. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication produced with the support of LiDA โ Laboratory for Research in Design and the Arts, as part of ESAD.CRโs work in artistic experimentation and research.
โAmong the Raindropsโ is organised and curated by Ana Anacleto, Ana Joรฃo Romana and Isabel Baraona.
