“Energy and Passion,” concert by the Cascais Symphony Orchestra
The grand symphonic concert featuring Jean Sibelius' most important symphony. Interestingly, the work was commissioned by the Finnish government to celebrate the composer's 50th birthday on December 8, 1915, the day on which the country's independence would be declared in 1917.
The concert repertoire also includes Piano Concerto No. 2 by French composer Camille Saint Saëns, performed by pianist Suzana Bartal.
