Exhibition ‘Traces of freedom: Mário Soares in the caricatures of Augusto Cid’
OPENING: 22 November at 4pm
This exhibition is part of the celebrations marking the centenary of Mário Soares, celebrating his legacy through art and freedom of expression. ‘'Traces of Freedom: Mário Soares in the Caricatures of Augusto Cid’ combines the sharp eye of the famous caricaturist with the unmistakable figure of the Portuguese politician.
Over the decades, Cid portrayed Mário Soares with humour, criticism and freedom - traits that reveal both the spirit of the caricaturist and the political strength of the honouree. The collection of original drawings by Augusto Cid is preserved in the Cascais Municipal Historical Archive, ensuring its conservation and access for future generations.
