Workshops: “Cloth Storytellers,” at the Paula Rego House of Stories
In Paula Rego's works, there are countless stories that we can find and (re)discover or (re)recognize.
The artist's creative process also involves a variety of techniques, ranging from drawing to painting, cutting and pasting, and even embroidery.
The relationship with textiles has always been evident in Paula Rego's work, whether through the costumes and props that inhabit the settings of her works, or through the creation of some textile pieces, the most notable example being the tapestry “Alcácer Quibir” at the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego.
The Cultural and Educational Service offers a series of four workshops. Through this relationship with textiles in Paula Rego's universe, pieces that tell stories are created by exploring various embroidery and sewing techniques.
