Description

The exhibition Silence and Form, by Inês Galvão, brings together a group of works in which organic forms and hybrid figures emerge from the space between the real and the imagined. The exhibition is an initiative of the D. Luís I Foundation, in collaboration with Cascais City Council, and is part of the Bairro dos Museus program.

The 27 works presented, made in acrylic on paper, canvas and collage, visually translate a territory of suspension where “time slows down and creatures show themselves slowly”. Through dreamlike figures and shapes that escape rigid classifications, sometimes evoking the human body, sometimes suggesting plants or animals, Inês Galvão invites the public to enter a space of pause and introspection.

In a creative process that favors listening, gesture and instinct, the artist proposes a sensory and contemplative experience. Inês Galvão's artistic practice, the works appear without planning or title, as if designed by the silence itself. "There are moments when everything falls silent".
