CÁRCERE: Play starring Vinícius Piedade
“Cárcere” presents a week in the life of a pianist who, while in prison (DEPRIVED OF HIS FREEDOM AND HIS PIANO), becomes a hostage in an imminent rebellion. He lives in a countdown rhythm and his expectations, impressions, memories, reflections, and sensations are expressed through a diary that begins on a Monday and ends when the rebellion breaks out on a Sunday.
The monologue, which has already been presented in more than fifteen countries, offers a poetic reflection on freedom through the eyes of a pianist deprived of his freedom. With humor and a great deal of physicality, the show leads the audience into this vital countdown.
