Lecture “The Countess of Goa: A Journey with Our Navigators”
In the historical novel “The Countess of Goa,” the author seeks to give the reader an accurate picture of the experiences of Portuguese navigators in India in the early 16th century. With them, we take a trip down the beautiful and rugged Tapi River, explore the Tughlaq market in Surat, wander through one of the largest commercial cities in Hindustan, and discover the idiosyncrasies of the kingdom of Gujarat during the reign of Sultan Bahadur Shah. This lecture will present the most interesting historical elements in the book.
