Launch of the book “O Estoril Não Caiu do Céu” (Estoril Did Not Fall from the Sky) by author Maria João Lopo de Carvalho, presented by Margarida Magalhães Ramalho, with special guests in attendance: Mayor of Cascais, Carlos Carreiras, Deputy Mayor of Cascais, Nuno Piteira Lopes, and Director of Archives, Libraries, and Historical Heritage of CMC, João Miguel Henriques.
In this fictionalized biography, the writer explores a journey with stops at many stations and halts: from Beira Alta to Lisbon, from Lisbon to “Estoris” and from there to Paris, Biarritz, and back to Lisbon. Estoril Não Caiu do Céu takes us far beyond the life of one man, leading us through a piece of our history, through a country that the genius of Fausto de Figueiredo awakened from its torpor, giving it a new, unique, and luminous horizon.
