“Um Brinde à Música”, concert by OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra
In the concert Um Brinde à Música (A Toast to Music), the OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra demonstrates the variety of music and its ability to reinvent itself, constantly discovering new paths.
The year 2025 is full of important dates and anniversaries of composers whose work is distinguished by innovation and the creation of pieces that have marked the history of music.
This program includes the work of composers such as Erik Satie, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Leroy Anderson, marking the 100th and 50th anniversaries of their deaths, respectively. The 100th anniversary of the birth of Luciano Berio is also celebrated.
On the stage of the Senhora da Boa Nova Auditorium, the OCCO will also perform pieces by Johann Strauss II, 200 years after the birth of the Austrian composer, and Georges Bizet, who died 150 years ago.
It is a concert celebrating music in its fullest sense.
