Cascais Junior Chef
Jovem Cascais and Food Lab, in partnership with the Estoril School of Hospitality and Tourism, are once again holding Cascais Junior Chef. A cooking competition for young people from the municipality, aged between 12 (birthday by December 31, 2024) and 15. This is the perfect opportunity for our young people to show off their skills in the kitchen!
All you have to do to take part is fill in the form and submit a video, no longer than 10 minutes, of you cooking a dish - Participate HERE
After checking the applications, the candidates will be contacted by email by April 26 for the pre-selection phase. After this phase, the competition will be divided into three elimination phases:
- The first is scheduled for May 10 at the Mercado da Vila. Here the 10 selected participants will have to cook based on indications given by the jury, who will then evaluate them.
- The second phase will have only 7 contestants and will be held on May 16, also at the Mercado da Vila. This phase will be used to choose the 5 contestants who will compete in the grand final on May 31 at the Mercado da Vila. This is where the top three places will be decided.
The first prize winner will receive a paid internship at the Cascais Food Lab lasting one month, the book "Cozinha Tradicional Portuguesa" by Maria de Lourdes Modesto, the book "Receitas de Reis e Pescadores", among others. Second place will be able to take a cooking or pastry module at the Cascais Food Lab and the book "Recipes from Kings and Fishermen", among others, and third place will be able to take a Master Class, also at the Cascais Food Lab and the book "Recipes from Kings and Fishermen", among others. The remaining contestants selected at the application stage will be entitled to a participation prize and a Master Class taught by renowned chefs.
There will be a training event on May 4, with the presence of renowned chefs who will share culinary tips with the contestants.
