About:

The Lisbon Doctors Choir and Orchestra Association (ACOML) was founded in 2019, resulting from the union of two projects that have been growing since 2014. At the heart of its formation is the intention to create a space where medical students and doctors can pursue their love and dedication to music beyond their profession. Rooted in this desire to continue a musical activity in parallel, the two groups currently have around 70 members, including students from the two medical schools in Lisbon as well as newly graduated doctors, where music becomes the unifying language within the entire medical community. We believe that it is projects of this nature that shape doctors who are more pluralistic, more humane, more motivated, and undoubtedly happier.

OperaWave - A non-profit cultural association created in 2018 that cultivates a taste for music, with a particular interest in the field of opera singing. It promotes the study and dissemination of opera through conferences, recitals, concerts, and activities with cultural and charitable purposes. In pursuit of these goals, it develops inclusive projects focused on young people and proactive projects for senior citizens. Acting as a meeting place for different generations, OperaWave brings together its members and the artists involved, both professionals and amateurs with accredited musical training, and encourages the integration of new members. It aims to provide opportunities for young singers and professional instrumentalists to perform and make a name for themselves.
