Workshop “The art of traditional Portuguese embroidery: Valentine's Handkerchiefs”
In this workshop, inspired by the courtship rituals among country folk described by Maria Micaela Soares in her book "Saloios de Cascais: Etnografia e Linguagem"(Country Folk of Cascais: Ethnography and Language), we will recreate the motifs and messages of the emblematic Valentine's Handkerchiefs. Through lines and stitches, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary touch, each participant will have the opportunity to create a unique and authentic embroidery, full of symbolism and tradition.
