Description

This tour, organized by the Cultural and Educational Service, invites you to rediscover the silent, often overlooked traces that link the history of Cascais to the transatlantic slave trade and smuggling.
Throughout a journey through the town's emblematic sites, material and immaterial traces emerge that reveal a memory that is sometimes forgotten but deeply rooted in the territory.

Starting at the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum, passing by the Rei D. Carlos Sea Museum and Cascais Bay, among other places, this itinerary aims to make visible what has been silenced, inviting critical reflection on the legacy of slavery and its repercussions on contemporary society, challenging us to look at the past with awareness and the present with responsibility.
