Presentation of the book “PIO” by Ágata Pereira with illustrations by Rita Correia
“Not another peep!” Who hasn't heard that before? With text by Ágata Pereira, the book ‘PIO’ promotes dialogue and respects differences. It is an exercise in citizenship and freedom, with humor. Illustrated by Rita Correia, it holds surprises on every page, appealing to the desire and right to “chirp”!
Ágata Pereira is a primary school teacher. She believes that art is a free meeting point and values stories as an essential tool for communication, sharing, and welcoming. Among her published children's works are “Adelaide,” “Melissa – Vidas de invertebrados” (Melissa – Lives of Invertebrates), “Camelote,” and this “Pio.”
The name Rita Correia, illustrator and independent author, is recognized in many school and family groups thanks to her first project, “Um Livro para Ti” (A Book for You). The success of this self-published edition was followed by the books “O Meu Nome é...” (My Name is...), ‘Ilumina’ (Illuminate), and “O Presente com a Maior Fita do Mundo” (The Gift with the Longest Ribbon in the World).
