Storytimes with simultaneous translation into LGP by Rita Belicha
Cascais Municipal Libraries organise inclusive storytelling sessions, ensuring accessibility and integration for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Together, the storytellers and the translator reveal stories straight out of books or traditional tales, for all ears, all eyes, all curious spirits eager to fly at the sound of a hand and a voice.

Rita Belicha, 31, is from the Alentejo village of Vila Nova de São Bento. She is a Portuguese Sign Language interpreter and has been a graduate of the School of Education at the Setúbal Polytechnic Institute since 2015. Passionate about art and communication, she interprets into Portuguese Sign Language in a variety of contexts, so that society can be of everyone and for everyone, and so that the deaf community can play a more active role. She is the creator of the Instagram page @planogestual, which aims to raise awareness of the learning and importance of LGP and, once again, to bring music to everyone, transmitted in silence but received with rhythm and feeling.
