Launch of the book “O suspiro da Amazônia” (The Sigh of the Amazon), by Guta Yung
Book synopsis:
In search of her roots, Anna travels to the Amazon and finds herself surrounded by legends, love, and mysteries that inhabit the forest. Upon meeting Martin—a man marked by the ancient legend of the pink river dolphin—she discovers that the myths of the region are more real than she imagined. Between magical encounters and concrete threats, Anna joins local communities and the Mamirauá Reserve in the fight to preserve the river dolphin, a species threatened by human exploitation. O Suspiro da Amazônia is a story of love, belonging, and resistance, intertwining mythology, romance, and the urgent defense of the forest and its enchanted guardians.
Guta Yung was born in São Paulo, but considers herself a citizen of the world. Since childhood, she has had the opportunity to learn about other cultures and languages, which has translated into a constant curiosity about other peoples and traditions. Having lived most of her life outside Brazil, she seeks to reconnect with her origins, study her own culture, and rescue forgotten Brazilian legends.
“O Suspiro da Amazónia” is her first published novel.
