Atlantic Cliffs Adventure
The Atlantic Cliffs Adventure 2024 (ACA2024) is the seventh edition of the trail running sporting event organised annually by the União Recreativa da Charneca.
ACA2024 is a nature sports event that offers participants:
- an iconic national event that offers participants the mythical challenges of climbing Peninha and running along the hanging valleys of the Charneca coastline;
- a sustainable experience of discovering the unique natural landscapes of the Cascalense coastline in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park (PNS-C) and its hill villages (Charneca, Malveira da Serra/Almoinhas Velhas, Biscaia and Figueira do Guincho).
- experience the warm hospitality of the village of Charneca, which will treat all participants when they complete the race with the traditional hot soup.
The event is made up of 2 competitive Trail Running races (Long Trail K20 and Short Trail K10) and a non-competitive walk of a recreational and social nature. The long trail runs along a 20-kilometre circular route, starting and finishing at the União Recreativa da Charneca
The races will take place on two circular routes, starting and finishing at the União Recreativa da Charneca, the 20km route on which the Long Trail will take place and the 10km route on which the Short Trail and the walk will take place.
The event is expected to be attended by 650 athletes.
The race is scheduled to start at 09h00, with the prize giving taking place at 12h00 and the event closing at 14h00.
