Performers: First-year students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Dance program
Synopsis: “Only attention—an attention so vast that the ‘self’ disappears—is required of me. To deprive everything I call ‘self’ of the light of attention and transport it to the inconceivable”
(Simone Weil, Gravity and Grace)
Building on this idea, the piece proposes a movement practice rooted in repetition, listening, and remaining in the moment, moving away from the urgency to reach an end.
A stubborn and obstinate attention is cultivated, yet one that is also malleable, capable of allowing itself to be transformed. Between insistence and a willingness to postpone the end, the movement creates a space of attunement and presence.
