Europe Day
On 8 May, between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm, Cascais Municipal Council will mark Europe Day at Cascais Town Market with an event designed to encourage youth participation and promote skills in active citizenship, democratic decision-making and the participatory management of public resources.
This initiative is part of Cascais European Capital of Democracy 2026, bringing together schools, associations and stakeholders for training on topics such as Equality, Inclusion and Education for Democratic Citizenship, with 300 secondary school pupils expected to take part.
On 9 May, the Town Hall building will be illuminated in blue, joining the initiative promoted by the European Commission and the European Parliament as a symbolic celebration of European identity.
