"Great Works of Chamber Music", recital by the OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra
The Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra (OCCO) performs the work of two composers who opened the doors to German Romanticism. C. Maria von Weber was strongly influenced by the genius of Beethoven and his symphonies, concertos, and chamber music, which exhibit the unmistakable mark of Beethoven's transformative sound. In turn, Beethoven described Weber as the true author of German national opera.
Two hundred years after his death, the OCCO celebrates C. Maria von Weber, considered one of the leading and authentic masters of orchestral conducting, as well as the composer from Bonn, whose figure overshadows many of the composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
