The Invisible Marks - Slavery and Smuggling in Cascais tour invites you to rediscover the silent—often ignored—marks that intertwine the history of Cascais with the transatlantic slave trade and smuggling.
Throughout a journey through emblematic locations in the town, material and immaterial vestiges emerge, revealing a memory sometimes forgotten but deeply rooted in the territory. Passing by the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum and the King D. Carlos Maritime Museum, this itinerary aims to make visible what has been silenced, inviting critical reflection on the legacy of slavery and its repercussions in contemporary society, challenging us to look at the past with awareness and the present with responsibility.
