Description

Luís Ribeiro, a young international pianist, presents a narrative program in two chapters that depicts the journey toward “Judgment Day.”. The recital begins with works by Haydn, Chopin, and Ronald Stevenson, in which the certainty of reality dissolves into the sea, setting in motion a supernatural journey from Rachmaninoff’s “Tableau Studies” to Liszt’s final, ferocious chase.

A program brimming with symbolism, mythology, stories, and fairy tales, offering a pure embodiment of a programmatic, musical, and immersive experience. The recital features improvisation and narration by the pianist himself.

“An innocence of humility and mastery, as if the music simply flowed from his fingers, radiating a luminous beauty.” (Christopher Axworthy, Musical Commentary / CIPSS 2025)
