Peace and Freedom | New Year's Concert, by OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra
Music has always been a strong weapon in the conquest of freedom and the best remedy for finding peace and helping to recover the noblest feelings of the human being.
The first concert of the year by the OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra takes place under the theme of “Peace and Freedom”, two words with a strong presence in the works of the composers in the repertoire of this meeting between musicians and audience.
Waltzes by Chopin, Shostakovich, Khachaturian and Dunayevsky tell stories of suffering, struggle and sacrifice, which are ultimately overcome and won.
Waltzes, despite being music for fun, can teach, provoke and compel the audience to feel a mixture of feelings of joy and gratitude to the geniuses that the OCCO presents in this concert, where the Strauss family will not be missing, with the usual introductions and comments by Maestro Nikolay Lalov.
