New Year's Eve in Cascais Bay
From the evening of the 31st of December 2024 to the dawn of the 1st of January 2025, Cascais Bay will once again be the scene of an unforgettable New Year's Eve: technology will be part of the landscape. It's a new tradition to welcome the New Year.
After the success of 2023/2024, Cascais will once again have a festive programme worthy of the occasion: nothing more than the biggest New Year's Eve event with drones in mainland Portugal.
In all, 300 autonomous drones will fly over Cascais Bay, synchronised with precision, to draw up a magnificent and inspiring visual narrative, taking the form of text messages and iconic monuments in the municipality.
The show starts at 11.55 pm on the 31st of December 2024 and features around 10 minutes of magic. At the end, because the festivities demand it, fireworks will fill the sky with light and colour, in a cross-section of positive energy.
For everyone's safety, traffic will be closed from 10 pm on the 31st of December 2024 on the stretch between the João Paulo II Roundabout (Cascais Cultural Centre) and the Filipe Nobre de Figueiredo Roundabout (next to the Visconde da Luz Garden) and will only reopen at 2 am on the 1st of January 2025.
