Piano and saxophone recital: an encounter of sounds and emotions.
Cascais presents a piano and saxophone recital by Arsénio Martins and Paulo Lopes, at the Cascais Cultural Center auditorium, offering the public a unique musical experience marked by creativity, emotion, and artistic excellence.
Pianist and composer Arsénio Martins was born in Normandy, France, in 1970, and began his career as a pianist and composer in 1996. He led several jazz groups during the 1990s. From 2005 onwards, he began composing soundtracks to accompany dozens of silent films in film archives and film festivals in various countries. Over the past 30 years, he has been writing works for his recitals, in the formations he is part of: Arsénio Martins Ensemble (piano, violin, cello, flute and percussion), Arsénio Martins & Aroma jazz trio, the cine-concerts in trio - piano, cello and clarinet - or in a piano and saxophone duo. He divides his work between four countries: France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
A graduate in jazz from Lusíada University, saxophonist Paulo Lopes participates in the jazz quartet Arsénio Martins & Aroma Jazz trio, in the musical film formation. Recently, he was part of an ensemble, alongside instrumentalists from the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, in a multidisciplinary concert with spoken word poetry, video, and original music composed and conducted by Arsénio Martins. The show premiered at the Som Riscado Festival in Loulé.
