Presentation of the documentary Chieira and the book Casas Regionais em Lisboa - Lugares de Cultura Popular Tradicional Portuguesa by the author Luís Esteves.
The event will begin with the presentation of the documentary, which lasts 40 minutes. This will be followed by an open discussion in which the book will be presented. Participating will be the President of the Cascais and Estoril Parish Council, Pedro Morais Soares, the author, Luís Esteves, the President of the D. Luís I Foundation, Professor Salvato Telles de Menezes and Bibá Pitta, who will act as moderator. Finally, there will be a performance by the Rancho Coral e Coreográfico da Sociedade Musical de Cascais.
The documentary Chieira and the book Casas Regionais em Lisboa - Lugares de Cultura Popular Tradicional Portuguesa (Regional Houses in Lisbon - Places of Traditional Portuguese Popular Culture) are the result of Luís Esteves' doctoral research into migratory flows from the interior of the country, from the villages, to Lisbon and the strong rural expression in the Portuguese capital.
The documentary has already won several international awards: Spain, Holland, Italy and India.
