Traditional embroidery on photographs: Workshop
In this workshop, led by Silvia Lanรงa from CASA โ Laboratรณrio de Criaรงรฃo, participants are invited to unleash their imagination and transform simple cloth bags into true works of art! Through the technique of embroidery on photographs, each piece will take on a life of its own in a creative encounter between image and line.
The experience is divided into two inspiring moments. In the first, there is room to discover materials, explore creative ideas and learn seven essential embroidery stitches: running stitch, backstitch, stem stitch, split stitch, satin stitch, petal/daisy stitch and French knot.
Then it's time to create! Each participant will apply the techniques learned to decorate their own bag, embroidering freely on photographs from the collection of the Cascais Rural Space Interpretation Centre. The result? Unique pieces, full of personality and meaning, that celebrate creativity and heritage in an original and contemporary way.
