"Oikos" - the Greek word for ‘home’ - is the shared root of both ecology and economy. Two ways of thinking about the same territory: one concerned with understanding its internal laws; the other with managing what can be extracted from it. ECO-NOMIA: The Rules of the House emerges from this tension to question what it means to coexist, between species, between human and non-human, between natural forms and fabricated ones.” -  Catarina Leitão

The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the invisible rules that shape the relationship between humans and nature, domestication and wilderness, control and ecological imbalance. For years, Catarina Leitão’s work has explored precisely these themes. The artist has developed a distinctive visual language that moves between the post-natural, artificial botany, scientific archives, and ecological fiction. In several previous exhibitions, such as Naturfatura and Portable Garden,  she had already been investigating the idea of a constructed, reproduced, and even industrialised nature.
