Scheherazade | Concert by the Orquestra Sinfónica de Cascais
The magnificent work composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888 is a masterful example of orchestration. Rich in colour and filled with captivating sonic beauty, Scheherazade remains one of the most beloved works in the orchestral repertoire.
Inspired by the tales of One Thousand and One Nights, the piece centres on the storyteller Scheherazade, who recounts stories to the Sultan in order to postpone her execution.
The Cascais Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to an evening of beauty and exotic soundscapes, featuring the celebrated Adagio from Khachaturian’s Spartacus.
