Being Nature - Immersive experience in the Huni Kuin indigenous culture
An immersive experience of ancestral wisdom
Casa-Árvore, Associação Cultura no Muro and CASA - Laboratório de Criação are joining forces to host an immersive day at Atelier Carlos Botelho [Parede, Cascais] with the great shaman Sabino Txaná Ixã, a profound connoisseur of Huni Meka songs, master of many txanás and one of the Huni Kuin people's greatest references in terms of traditional song knowledge. As part of TXANÁ KAYA KENEYA KAYAWEI - Huni Kuin Cultural Exchange Meeting in Portugal, this special day will be attended by Zenira Neshane Huni Kuin, Tenê Huni Kuin and Sabino Dua Ixã, and proposes a profound experience between nature, culture and spirituality.
Programme:
- Talk: "Being-Nature and Being-Culture" - Amerindian perspectivism and ways of life that integrate nature and culture in an inseparable way.
- Huni Kuin Weaving Workshop (09h30-10h30)
- Huni Kuin Traditional Songs Workshop (10h30-13h00)
- Shared lunch (13h00-15h00)
- Body Painting - Kenê Graphics (15h00-17h00)
- KatxaNawa Celebration and Planting (17h00-19h00)
A day of listening, creating and celebrating, in connection with the living knowledge of the forest. Open to all ages. Limited places.
