Description

The Estoril Academy of Arts presents “The Sound of Things”, a theatre and puppet show for babies, written by Yolanda Santos and staged by the Valdevinos Marionetas theatre company.

The story is inspired by a baby’s daily life, a world in which everything is stimulating. The play creates a sensory and playful atmosphere through interaction with puppets, objects, words and listening, exploring the relationship between sight and sound, in a harmonious blend of sounds, live music and discoveries.

The Sound of Things | Whilst Ema’s dad is putting away the washing he’s taken off the line, he notices that one of the socks is left behind. Its pair is missing. But where do lost socks end up in the washing machine, anyway? Ema and her friend Maria Pimenta (her cat) set off in search of the missing sock and discover that inside the house, there is a whole world of things to discover. A journey told through the sounds and musicality of the objects that inhabit our home. Every corridor hides an adventure and under every rug there is a mystery to unravel. Is there, after all, a place where all lost objects end up?
