Nova SBE Filmmaking Cycle 2024/2025: Exploring pressing global issues through film
Nova SBE is pleased to present its first Film Cycle, an initiative that brings together various departments of the school to explore pressing global issues through the art of cinema.
The 2024/2025 cycle will focus on sustainability, climate action, art and research.
Each session will feature a selection of short films, followed by debates aimed at sparking new ideas and promoting innovative projects. The next session, on 14 November 2024 at 5.30pm at the Teresa and Alexandre Soares dos Santos Library, will feature the screening of the film Common Ground, directed by JOSH TICKELL and REBECCA TICKELL. This thought-provoking documentary delves deeply into the intersections between environmental management, community resilience and sustainable agriculture, bringing to light the urgent need for regenerative solutions.
After the screening, there will be a conversation with Carlos Mendes Gonçalves and João Martins, moderated by Nova SBE's Sustainability Department. This conversation will be a platform to explore the film's key themes, establishing links with Nova SBE's ongoing research and initiatives in the field of sustainability.
