Studio visit “O Traço que Diz ...” (The Line that Says ...), at the Portuguese Music Museum - Casa Verdades de Faria
The distinctive style of painter Maria Helena Vieira da Silva made her one of the most notable figures in 20th-century abstract art. Each stroke and brushstroke is uniquely hers, made up of lines and squares in an abstract art where anything is possible.
In this studio tour, we will learn about the life of this woman and painter, exploring the characteristics of her style and some of her favorite themes, such as the Library, which evokes the days spent at her maternal grandfather's house. Children are challenged to create their own abstract work based on their observation of the artist's works.
