Piano Recital by José Pedro Ribeiro
The Cascais Cultural Center Auditorium will host a recital by José Pedro Ribeiro, featuring works by Brahms, António José Fernandes, Busoni, and Chopin. The highlight will be Schumann’s Symphonic Studies, a work of great intensity and sonic richness.

José Pedro Ribeiro (b. 1995) has established himself as one of the most active Portuguese pianists of his generation.
Among his most notable engagements in recent seasons are concerts with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, the Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, the Lisbon Sinfonietta, the AFCL Wind Ensemble, and the ESML Symphony Orchestra.
He collaborates regularly with Melleo Harmonia on chamber music programs at the Música no Termo Festival, during the São Carlos National Theater season, and in recitals frequently broadcast on Antena 2.
His recent activities also include a tour of the Czech Republic, as well as a recital in Rome. Also noteworthy is his performance of Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Adamastor Trio and the Lisbon Sinfonietta, conducted by Vasco Azevedo.
After winning the Young Musicians Award in Piano (2019) and Chamber Music (2017—Adamastor Trio), José Pedro Ribeiro performs regularly at venues and festivals such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa da Música, Belém Cultural Center, São Luiz Theater, the Assembly of the Republic, the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, the Museu do Oriente, the Póvoa de Varzim International Music Festival, the Música Viva Festival, the Estoril Festival, and the World New Music Days.
A native of Vizela, he studied in his hometown with José Manuel Ramos Ferreira, Filipe Pinto, and Rogério Rodrigues. Later, he studied in Guimarães with Ingrid Sotolářová. Subsequently, he was a student at the Lisbon Higher School of Music in the class of pianist Miguel Henriques. He is currently mentored by Artur Pizarro.
