Description

“Nana in the World” is the first show conceived by the Pedra Papel project. It is a journey through different musical languages, soundscapes, collective and individual memories, through traditional songs from various countries and original musical compositions.

Here, music is highlighted as a universal language capable of breaking down borders and uniting generations and cultures. The aim is to provide a unique moment in a place where there are so many other places full of music, movement, colors, shadows, silences and sounds, with room for improvisation in a musical dialogue between musicians, children and family members.

Pedra Papel is a project formed by Ana Vieira and David Matos and dedicated to music in early childhood. Through shows and sessions, they offer a series of musical experiences where children can enrich their listening vocabulary.

This session of EM CENA will take place, in its first edition with Bairro dos Museus, in the Paula Rego House of Stories - as it is the fertile territory for these visual, sound and sensory narratives - and will mark one of the key issues celebrated on International Museum Day: intangible heritage in connection with the sound and orality of the stories that Paula Rego preserves so well in her work, and which she has shown is important for this collective memory to continue to be passed down from generation to generation.
