Presentation of the novel “00Zero - The Portuguese Spy” by José T. Morais
Synopsis: After an intense “Intelligence” course, Arnaldo da Silva is posted to the “Repartição” where he collects information for state security. Later, at his request, he is posted to the Portuguese embassy in Moscow. There he meets Yuri and other members of international embassies. He is invited to a think-tank on international events. He meets Maria Marilivoditch, a ballerina with whom he falls in love. He is found embracing Nadia, a double spy, and is arrested by the Russian secret services. Maria is kidnapped and Arnaldo investigates her disappearance, traveling around Europe. Later, through an anonymous tip-off by someone from the services in Lisbon, he is framed as a double spy.
These are some of the many stories of a Portuguese spy and his quest through Moscow in Russia, Baghdad in Iraq, from where he flees after the Gulf War, as well as Lisbon and the Alentejo coast.
