Surprising Encounters, recital by OCCO - Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra
“Surprising Encounters” brings together in a recital the works of Russian Serguei Prokofiev and Portuguese Sérgio Azevedo and Eurico Carrapatoso.
Serguei Prokofiev is considered one of the most important composers of the 20th century.
his mastery of creating captivating and, at the same time, surprising melodies. Prokofiev's quintet is the result of a request for an ensemble of five musicians to accompany a small group of dancers. Thus was born another piece of chamber music conditioned by the elements of the group that placed the order.
In turn, the Portuguese composer Sérgio Azevedo created a work for the same type of instruments, allowing such a varied ensemble to have an enriched repertoire.
To this recital we add the work of the Portuguese composer Eurico Carrapatoso.
