DINIS COSTA - Tribute Concert at the Cascais Cultural Center Auditorium
The collective that now honors Dinis Costa formed spontaneously following his recent passing at the age of 28. His music, despite being melodically and harmonically sophisticated, maintains a beauty, accessibility, and empathy that achieves a rare communication and closeness with the audience, always transporting us to the comfort of the warm southern landscape.
This collective recreates themes from his recent recording, *Sons ร Porta*, a work that refers to Dinis Costa's family roots in the city of Lagos. Beyond the extensive and diverse range of experiences he lived through, the south is imprinted in his sound, sometimes sentimental and melancholic, sometimes sunny and resplendent, demonstrating a unique and clearly perceptible identity.
Bringing together classical and jazz traditions with a multiplicity of contemporary influences, the spontaneity of his creation results in sonic poetry, where lyricism and sensitivity interact with the pleasure of discovery, exposing the mesmerizing power of his music to suspend time, while it lasts.
Organized by: Pedro Costa | Supported by: Cascais City Council and Dom Luรญs I Foundation
