Another Wunderkammer Exhibition by Sofia Pinto Correia
"Outra Wunderkammer" is a cabinet of curiosities, a simulation of a personal museum with unique pieces: mixed media paintings, objects and artist's books. It's a retrospective of Sofia Pinto Correia's 20-year artistic career in painting and writing, using a wide variety of themes and techniques, experimenting with the balance between art, words and heritage. It's a place where materials (brushes, paints, easels) and research tools (books, field notebooks) mix in a studio environment. Where you socialize, paint live, say poetry, or simply marvel at what remains to be imagined.
Sofia Pinto Correia was born in Lisbon in 1968. She is a Fashion Designer with a degree in Marketing from IADE - Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication of the European University, a postgraduate degree in Intangible Cultural Heritage from ULHT - Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies and artistic training from the National Society of Fine Arts, dedicating herself to the creation and research of costume, clothing and textiles, in technologies, history and heritage. She is the author of the interdisciplinary project 'Mourasencantadas', which combines intangible heritage, handicrafts, visual arts and oral traditions. She runs workshops for children, young people and adults on themes related to art, creativity, traditions and history, linking sustainability, handicrafts, visual arts and heritage. In the field of painting, she has been exhibiting individually on a regular basis since 2003, and has held dozens of exhibitions.
