Conservação preventiva e coleções fotográficas Workshop dinamizado por Luís Pereira
The workshop on preventive conservation and photographic collections, to be held as part of the exhibition “The Invention of Estoril: History in Photography (1914-1955)”, aims to introduce basic concepts of preventive conservation of photographic collections. Based on the main photographic processes of the 19th and 20th centuries, various topics will be covered, such as the factors involved in the deterioration of photographic collections, the main strategies for their preservation and the responsibilities and limits of interventions in photographic collections.
Luís Pereira has a degree in Conservation and Restoration from the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, a Master's in Museology from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies in Lisbon and a PhD in Documentation from the University of Alcalá de Henares. Since 2005 he has developed his professional activity and scientific reflection in the areas of preventive conservation, conservation and restoration and museology. He is vice-president of the Professional Association of Conservators-Restorers of Portugal.
