County Heritage Routes | The fear of the night during the Age of Discovery
On this special tour aboard the salt galleon Estou para ver, in addition to enjoying the beauty of the Cascais coastline under the light of the stars, we will explain the use of different models of nautical instruments in night navigation, particularly those used during the 16th and 17th centuries.
This nocturnal visit along the Cascais coast will take us on an imaginary journey back to ancient times, when the fear of the darkness of night and the terror of the unknown, associated with superstitions and myths, plagued Portuguese sailors at the time of the discoveries.ย
