Playing with Paint: A Painting Exhibition by Rui Silva
Rui Silva was born in Angola in 1962, where he lived until 1975, when he came to Portugal to live in Lisbon and, later, in Cascais, where he still lives today. From a young age, he nurtured a strong passion for drawing; art lessons were his favourites and the ones in which he achieved the highest marks.
At some point, he decided to pick up a canvas and a brush and experiment with paints. He became a self-taught artist who honed his skills, initially simply for his own enjoyment and later to create works for friends. This will be his first solo exhibition, which will reveal a world hitherto hidden, expressed here through his artistic work characterised by technique and colour, particularly on African themes.
