Description

Jorge Colaço, a painter and ceramist, occupies a place of great significance in the history of Portuguese painting and tile art, having produced a vast and diverse body of work that can be found in numerous buildings and public spaces. His work in Cascais deserves special attention, not only for its artistic and heritage value, but also for the personal and family ties that lay at its origin.

The lecture “Jorge Rey Colaço and Cascais: a connection through art and family memory”, delivered by Cláudia Emanuel, explores Jorge Colaço’s work in the municipality from a broader perspective, linking the painter’s artistic creation with his family’s connection to Cascais.

The event is taking place as part of the European Heritage Days.
